Patrick Ching, owner of Naturally Hawaiian, is a renowned nature artist who was born and raised in Hawaii. At age 42 he has already acquired international recognition for his intricately detailed art and books on Hawaiian wildlife.

By working "in the field" for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Ching spent a good part of his life exploring remote areas of the islands getting to know intimately the creatures and places that inspire his work.

Patrick spent most of his life in Moanalua and graduated from high school there in 1980. Ching also attended Leeward Community College, the Academy of Arts, and Otis/Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles.

Patrick lived and worked at the Kilauea Lighthouse Wildlife Refuge on Kauai since 1987. In 1991 Hurricane Iniki left him looking for a new home. With his favorite horse 'Ilima and dog Kaiko, Patrick moved to Waimanalo on the Island of Oahu.

Among his biggest accomplishments were the 1986 Hawaiian Telephone Phone Book Cover featuring Haley's Comet, a one man show in Governor Waihe'e's office in 1987, Hawaii's first Wildlife Conservation Stamp featuring our state bird the nene (goose) and a hundred foot mural for the Salt Lake Public Library depicting the artist's favorite historic scenes from the Salt Lake/Moanalua area.rnBeing an avid athlete, Patrick has participated in little league baseball, high school wrestling, professional boxing and rodeo bullriding. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys surfing, fishing, ridiing his horses and hang gliding.

In 1996 Patrick Ching, with the help of many friends, opened Naturally Hawaiian Gallery and Gifts in Waimanalo.
